Boxed-In (36" x 24" acrylic on canvas) by Marc Dominus was painted in September of 2018 for the "Masstige" exhibition at Kettle Art Gallery in Dallas's Deep Ellum arts district. It was one of Marc's earliest acrylic paintings, having previously only worked with oils. Satisfied and excited about this new work, he decided to create a second painting, Boxed-In Too, that the gallery then selected to feature prominently. The Puzzled Co. has translated both paintings into puzzle art editions that can be purchased separately or as a pair.
How V of BTS, the world's most popular boy band, purchased "Boxed-In" and "Boxed-In Too" for his art collection.
"On a rainy Friday evening, with the Gallery preparing to close, a group of young men came through the door dressed in all black except for one, who was dressed casually in a red “running suit.” He was trailed around the gallery by a cameraman filming his every move. He stood for a long time in front of "Box-In Too" and asked to see more of my paintings around the gallery. One of these was "Boxed-In," the first painting in the series. After 30 minutes of conversation largely supported by Google translate, the collector decided to purchase both of the paintings. After he left, I discovered he was V!" - as told by Marc Dominus.
